At the end of the third quarter of 2007 the World population was estimated at 6,574,666,417 and the number of Internet users was 1,244,449,601, which represents a 18.9% market penetration.

North America leads the penetration by World Regions with 70% of the approximate 335 million population using the Internet followed by 55% of Oceania/Australia and then 42% of Europe.

The largest growth World Region between 2000-2007 is the Middle East. The usage growth has actually increased in the Middle East by approximately 920% during this time period, closely followed by Africa with 875% growth of Internet users during this time period.
